About

Nurse.
Researcher.
Curious human.

A decade at the bedside navigating complex neurological cases slowly became the foundation for deeper study. Now a PhD candidate at UCLA, Lauren explores neurotechnologies aimed at investigating gradations of awareness in brain injury patients unable to speak for themselves.

The questions that drive her work have always existed beyond the clinic, lab, and classroom: in philosophy, in art, in the particular kind of perspective that emerges mid-concert or somewhere far from home.

She was recently adopted by a kitten named Louis and is currently learning to play the harp.
